    Achyranthes aspera L., known as Chirchita, is a versatile medicinal plant widely spread across tropical and subtropical regions. It thrives under diverse environmental conditions due to its adaptability. Traditionally, Chirchita has been commonly used in Ayurveda, Siddha, and other traditional systems of medicine for its anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antimicrobial, and wound-healing properties. The species has gained increasing attention in scientific research, particularly in studies focused on isolating its bioactive compounds and exploring its potential applications in modern pharmaceuticals. The ease of propagation and sustainability of cultivation make it an important species for both herbal medicine and commercial cultivation.
