The Impact of the Educational and Socio-Economic Environment on Mental Wellbeing
(Book Rivers, 2026) Shujauddin Khan, Jamal Abdul Nasir Ansari, Adeel Maqbool
This study explores the influence of educational attainment and socio-economic factors on youth employment in India. Recognizing the pivotal role of youth in the nation's demographic dividend, the research aims to analyze how variables such as education level, household income, gender, and geographic location affect employment outcomes among individuals aged 15-29. Using secondary data sourced from national surveys and government reports, the study employs statistical methods to examine correlations between these factors and employment status. The findings reveal that higher education levels significantly enhance employment prospects, while socio-economic disparities-especially in rural-urban divides and gender continue to impede equitable access to job opportunities. The paper concludes with policy recommendations focused on strengthening vocational education, improving access to quality schooling, and designing targeted employment programs to bridge existing gaps. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the structural challenges in India's youth labor market and emphasizes the urgent need for inclusive development strategies.
