Revolutionizing the Oil and Gas Industry through Nanotechnology
(Proceedings of the International Conference on the topic “Innovative approaches to localization, 2023) Sabeeha Jabeen, Shashi Bala, Abdul Rahman Khan, Tahmeena Khan
Nanotechnology has the potential to change the technological landscape of the oil and gas industry. Current research is exploring the use of nanotechnology in different aspects related to the oil and gas industry. This review summarizes the research advances in the field of drilling and processing and, the development/improvement of oil recovery using nanotechnology. Such information can help researchers understand current research and expand the applications of existing nanomaterials and elucidating the special properties of nanomaterials will continue to increase the use of nanomaterials in the oil petroleum and natural gas sectors.

CuO NANOPARTCLES AND THEIR ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY EVALUATION
(Zenodo, 2024) Sabeeha Jabeen, Ekhlakh Veg, Shashi Bala, Seema Joshi, Tahmeena Khan
The development of antibiotic resistance is one of the most pressing problems in global healthcare. Microbial resistance to antibiotics might be combatted by the use metal-oxide-based nanoparticles (NPs). Many studies have shown that Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) have potent antibacterial activity against different Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This review summarizes some recent studies to investigate the antibacterial activity of the CuO NPs fabricated from different strategies, particularly green synthesis which has emerged as an environment-friendly approach for the fabrication of NPs.

Nanoconjugation of Schiff Bases for Biological Activity Enhancement
(Zenodo, 2024) Ekhlakh Veg, Sabeeha Jabeen, Seema Joshi, Tahmeena Khan
Schiff bases form metal chelates which show good antimicrobial, anticancer properties etc. Due to poor solubility, poor bioavailability, researchers now conjugated these Schiff bases to nanoparticles which enhance the solubility and bioavailability for better results. This paper reports the nanocojugation of Schiff bases and their diverse biological activities. Keywords: Schiff bases, Antimicrobial, anticancer, nanoparticles etc.

PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES (PFAS) IN COSMETICS: OCCURRENCE, EXPOSURE PATHWAYS, HEALTH CONCERNS AND EMERGING REGULATORY RESPONSES
(Liberty Academic Publishers, 2025) Saimah Khan
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a large class of synthetic fluorinated chemicals increasingly recognized as persistent environmental and human contaminants (EPA, 2023; Peaslee et al., 2021). PFAS are intentionally added to many cosmetic and personal care products to enhance spreadability, water resistance, film formation, and long-lasting performance, and may also enter formulations unintentionally as impurities or degradation products of precursor ingredients (FDA, 2025; ToxStrategies, 2025). Recent analytical surveys report that a substantial proportion of foundations, mascaras, lipsticks, and other colour cosmetics sold in North America and Europe contain high levels of fluorine, suggesting widespread PFAS use (Peaslee et al., 2021; University of Notre Dame, 2024). While cosmetics are not the dominant source of aggregate PFAS exposure, their direct, frequent application to skin, lips, and peri-ocular areas raises concern, particularly for long-lasting and waterproof products marketed for daily use (Exponent, 2026; Wigle et al., 2025). Multiple epidemiological and toxicological studies link certain well-studied PFAS (for example, PFOA and PFOS) to kidney and testicular cancers, immune suppression, endocrine disruption, dyslipidaemia, and developmental toxicity, although cosmetic-specific risk assessments remain limited and uncertain (WHO, 2022; ECHA, 2023).
