Item SOCIAL MEDIA IN AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION(Door Publication, 2024) Sunil Kumar, Mustfa HussainSocial media plays a vital role in agricultural extension by enhancing communication, knowledge sharing, and technology dissemination among farmers, experts, and extension workers. Platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Twitter enable rapid exchange of agricultural information, weather updates, market trends, and best farming practices. Through interactive engagement, farmers can seek expert advice, share experiences, and access real-time solutions to field problems. Social media reduces the information gap, promotes participatory learning, and empowers rural communities to make informed decisions. Thus, it serves as a powerful tool for strengthening agricultural extension and improving productivity and sustainability in the farming sector.Item Rural Development Schemes in India Through years(Door Publication, 2024) Sunil Kumar, Mustfa HussainRural development schemes in India have played a vital role in improving the socio-economic conditions of rural communities over the years. The Government of India has launched several initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation, employment generation, infrastructure development, and social welfare. Early programs such as the Community Development Programme (1952) and Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) laid the foundation for rural progress. Later schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) focused on sustainable livelihoods, connectivity, and women empowerment. Recent initiatives like Digital India, PM-KISAN, and Rural Skill Development Programs emphasize technology, income support, and capacity building. These schemes collectively aim to enhance living standards, promote self-reliance, and ensure inclusive growth. Continuous monitoring, effective implementation, and community participation are essential for achieving long-term rural transformation.
