Digital Economy Under Siege: Cybersecurity Threats and Resilience Strategies
(Book Rivers, 2026) Sanjna Agarwal, Adeel Maqbool
The digital economy has revolutionised global commerce, communication, and innovation; however, it has also introduced complex cybersecurity vulnerabilities. As cyber threats increasingly intersect with finance, international law, public health, and national security, effective responses require interdisciplinary strategies that integrate technological, legal, and policy perspectives. This study examines the evolving threat landscape, including ransomware, phishing, supply chain attacks, and advanced persistent threats (APTs), within the context of increasingly integrated, data-driven infrastructures. Drawing on empirical studies, recent case studies, threat reports, and cybersecurity frameworks, it analyzes how cyber incidents disrupt economic activity, erode trust in digital systems, and pose systemic risks to global financial stability. The study further evaluates current policy responses and technical mitigation strategies, highlighting gaps in regulatory oversight and international coordination. The findings emphasise the need for cross-sector collaboration and innovative governance to build a secure and resilient digital economic ecosystem capable of withstanding rapidly evolving cyber threats.

Governance, Compliance, and CEO Pay: Navigating the New Regulatory Landscape in Indian Finance
(Book Rivers, 2026) Yatharth Kumar, Adeel Maqbool
Over the past few years, India has witnessed radical changes in the regulatory landscape in the area of finance and accounting, driven by an increasing emphasis on corporate governance, equity, accountability, and transparency in executive compensation. This chapter provides a critical appraisal of how changing norms of governance and compliance requirements, led by Indian regulators such as SEBI, RBI, and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, have redefined the landscape of CEO remuneration in Indian financial entities. Through this chapter, an attempt has been made to assess whether these reforms have succeeded in creating a connection between managerial incentives and shareholders' value in the long term or if there are still material gaps and inconsistencies prevailing. Drawing upon regulatory initiatives, such as the SEBI (LODR) Amendments, RBI's directions on the compensation of executives of private sector banks, and key provisions of corporate law, this chapter describes the normative bases of these initiatives and the concerns of their operational implementation. Based on a qualitative analysis of landmark cases and regulatory reports, it discusses how Indian companies are navigating and mitigating the tension between compliance, governance accountability, and competitive pay designs for top executives. The analysis highlights the contributions of disclosure quality, board independence, and performance-based compensation in this dynamic regulatory environment. The chapter concludes by acknowledging continuing disparities and proposing policy suggestions that are in harmony with both international governance best practices and India's socioeconomic realities.

Role of Corporate Social Responsibility in Startup Growth and Sustainability in India.
(Bharti Publications, 2024) Usman Ghani, Vibha Singh
India has seen a significant increase in the value of companies through shared values and professionals, leading to increased investment and accountability. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives have been instrumental in addressing stakeholder needs while addressing the environmental, social, fiscal, and economic impacts of a corporate strategy. These initiatives have resulted in improved brand image and high levels of customer loyalty. The concept of CSR in India has not been recent, but the industrial sector has improved, new CSR laws and regulations have been introduced, and the terminology known as CSR has been established in business beliefs. The Companies Act 2013 mandates companies with a net worth of rupees five hundred crore or more, turnover of rupees one thousand crore or more, or net profit of rupees five crore or more during a financial year to spend at least two percent of the average net profits of the last three financial years on CSR activities. However, SMEs/Startups are less willing to spend their valuable resources on CSR activities due to the stringency of compliance and their primary objective of business expansion. Access to capital is another challenge faced by social enterprises, with non-banking financial corporations discriminating against micro, small, and medium social enterprises due to a lack of audited accounts and collateral. CSR is a means to give resources to projects or

Non-Verbal Communication and Body Language In Crucial Communication Improving Conversations at Workplace
(Nitya Publications, Bhopal MP India, 2023, 2023) Sufia Rehman
Good communication skills play a pivotal role for success in both personal and professional relationships but when we refer to ̳communication‘, it generally implies ̳what we say‘ or the words that we exchange. Interpersonal communication is however, much beyond the explicit meaning of words, and the information or message that they express. It also encompasses the implied messages, whether deliberate or not, which are expressed through non-verbal activities like facial expressions, eye contact, rate of glances, patterns of fixation, blink rate, the tone and pitch of voice, gestures exhibited through body language (kinesics) and the physical distance between the communicators (proxemics). This body language is critical in our everyday behavior and relationships.
