    One District One Product (ODOP): Towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat

    Aatmanirbhar Bharat is a Government of India plan which focuses on making India tone- reliant. One District One Product( ODOP) is a radical step forward leading to an Aatmanirbhar Bharat by fuelling profitable growth and employment generation along with pastoral entrepreneurship, towards realising the true eventuality of the quarter. The ODOP action, for PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises PMFME) as well provides thealignment of support structure and frame for value- chain development. therefore, boosting the Indian Economic growth by supporting and accelerating the pace of development from the grassroot position. It was in the time 2020 that ODOP was brought to action to boost, promote and export the perishable indigenous products which are traditionally produced. ODOP action aims at enabling holistic socio- profitable growth, encouraging investment, fostering balanced indigenous development and boosting exports. It tries to identify, concentrate and support single product from specific quarter/ region to raise the standard of living by promoting the original frugality through employment generation.

    Vocal for Local: Resonating the Call for Aatmanirbhar Bharat

    The concept of “Vocal for Local” has emerged as a rallying cry, urging individuals and communities to prioritize and support locally produced goods and services. This movement, rooted in the ethos of self-reliance, aligns seamlessly with the vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India). This chapter explores the symbiotic relationship between “Vocal for Local” and the pursuit of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The paper begins by delving into the genesis of the “Vocal for Local” initiative, tracing its roots to the recognition of theeconomic, social, and cultural signicance of locally sourced products. The shift in consumer preferences towards indigenous products highlights the potential impact on fostering a robust and self-suĜcient national economy. Furthermore, the chapter investigates the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in realizing the objectives of “Vocal for Local” and contributing to the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. It delves into the key objectives, impact, opportunities and challenges faced by “Vocal for Local” initiative, emphasizing the need for supportive policies, infrastructural development, and technology adoption. Also, the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative’s key components are discussed in this chapter along with bringing out the interplay of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
