    Pesticide Contamination in Soil and Water: Type of Pesticide, Route of Expose, and Its Toxic Impacts

    One important concept in the sphere of agricultural development is pesticides. Consequently, the use of pesticides results in both acute and chronic toxicities in humans, and their detrimental impacts on the environment along with human health continue to be major concerns in the modern world. Therefore, there needs to be discussion about the methods for applying pesticides, the routes via which they are exposed to them, and the health hazards connected to their use. The health dangers posed by pesticide applications and exposure in developing countries are among the primary concerns. In addition to being physically exposed to pesticides through their work in agriculture and the home, along with other industries, people were also exposed indirectly to them through environmental media, for example, food, trash, and soil. The pesticides were administered to humans orally, respiratorily, and topically. Humans who are indirectly or directly exposed to pesticides may contract the effects of acute toxicity as well as chronic diseases.

    SALICYLIC ACID: AN EFFECTIVE TOOL TO COMBAT MANCOZEB TOXICITY IN PLANTS

    The use of fungicides is the continuous practice in agriculture to protect crops from various fungal diseases. Mancozeb (MZ(2-)], is a fungicide classified in the carbamate pesticide family, It is registered for use on a variety of horticulture and agricultural crops and seed treatment of cotton, potatoes, corn, safflower, sorghum, peanuts, tomatoes, flax, and various cereal grains. The fungicide mancozeb has a considerable deleterious impact on soil microflora, nitrification, ammonification, soil microbial biomass, carbon mineralization, and soil enzymes which may result in harmful effects on nutrient uptake and plant growth. Salicylic acid (SA) is an important signal molecule, regulating oxidative stress response in plants. It was found in many studies that exogenous application of salicylic acid could promote the degradation of pesticides and suppress the accumulation of pesticides in plant tissues. The present chapter covers the aspects of pesticidal response of plants and evaluates the contribution of Salicylic acid in mitigating pesticide-induced stress and increasing the tolerance of plants.

    Hypothetical Study on Organophosphates and SARS-CoV-2 Collaborating in Causing Several Respiratory and Immune Diseases for Future Generation: A Review

    Increasing population and increased intensity of crop production led to the invention of pesticides, among which organophosphates are extensively commercialized and used as commercial pesticides. Their toxicity leads to millions of deaths every year. The insecticide enters the food web and inhibits acetyl- cholinesterase enzyme production, which upturns into respiratory dysfunctioning and immuno-toxic production. SARS-CoV-2, a natural micro immuno-toxin, serves a similar mechanism over our body. It affects both the respiratory system and autoimmunity. The scope of this review article is to brief and explain the mechanism and relation between these two co-partners and their futuristic impact on the world. Henceforth, it is also recommended to utilize cost-effective homemade natural pesticides and integrated farming practices to provide secure and healthy food production and curb the future health hazards caused by SARS-CoV-2 and organophosphates.
