Among them, zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) are widely studied, and functionalization with thiosemicarbazide (TSC) derivatives enhances their stability, reactivity, solubility, and biocompatibility. Ultrasonic-assisted synthesis offers an eco-friendly approach, enabling rapid nucleation, uniform dispersion, and controlled particle size while promoting efficient ligand coordination. Nanocomposites are typically characterized using various spectroscopic techniques, which confirm successful functionalization. If the growing world population is to enjoy a higher standard of living without negatively affecting the health of the planet, green chemistry—the design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances—must be put into practice. The chemical industry will be able to responsibly supply society with the commodities and services it depends on, thanks to cleaner technology. Green chemistry offers answers to global issues like energy, climate change, sustainable agriculture, environmental pollutants, and resource depletion. About 80% of the total volume of chemicals utilized in many significant chemical processes, particularly the production of fine compounds, are chemical solvents. Regretfully, these solvents are frequently volatile organic chemicals derived from petroleum-bearing numerous hazards to the environment and human health. These two factors are used by many researchers as justifications for looking for new environmentally friendly solvents to replace the traditional ones. Pharmaceutical companies rely heavily on green chemistry to create new medications that are less harmful, more efficient, and have fewer adverse effects. The most recent viewpoints on GC and SC education and capacity building will be discussed. Proving their vital role in transforming institutional, infrastructure, and human resources settings across all industries on a wide scale in order to produce useful, cutting-edge information that can be implemented in more sustainable and eco-friendly goods and procedures in a demanding society.Item Human health hazards due to antimicrobial resistance spread(Academic Press, 2023) Shom Prakash Kushwaha; Syed Misbahul Hasan , Arun Kumar , Muhammad Arif , Munendra Mohan VarshneyAntimicrobial fend off millions of casualties every year. Unsuitable prescription and overdosing of antimicrobial have steered resistance as a global health emergency and results in 700,000 mortalities a year. The World Health Organization cogitates antimicrobial resistance as a universal threat to human health. Novel resistance mechanisms are evolving and dispersing globally, bullying our capability to treat infectious diseases. A mounting list of infections is becoming stiffer and occasionally impossible to be treated. One-fourth of infections subsequent to chemotherapy are resultant of antibiotic resistant organisms. The overall hospital mortality rate has been reported to be 7.6% in patients with a resistant isolate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Approximately 214,000 newborns pass away in a year as resultant of sepsis caused by resistant bacteria, that is, one-third of total sepsis mortality in newborns. Centers for disease control and prevention has alarmed regarding the urgent threats of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter and drug-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The serious threats of Vancomycin resistant Enterococci and drug resistant Salmonella serotype Typhi has been specified along with the concerns for Erythromycin resistant Group A Streptococcus and Clindamycin resistant group B Streptococcus. Drug resistant Mycoplasma genitalium and Bordetella pertussis have been on the watch list. Antimicrobial resistance tips toward lengthier hospital stays greater medical costs and augmented mortality. The threat of antimicrobial resistance is mounting at an alarming proportions especially in developing countries as a result of impropriate use of antimicrobials. In order to reduce the antimicrobial resistance and improve the patient quality of life, it is important to know the mechanism of resistance to reduce the rate of resistance and patient hospitalization. An outbreak of a multidrug-resistant infection in the hospital settings or other places shows the need and importance for better antimicrobial prescription.
