Abstract
Indian philosophical traditions have long emphasized the cultivation of inner peace, emotional balance, and spiritual stability as essential goals of human life. In the contemporary world, characterized by stress, anxiety, materialism, and social conflicts, these traditions offer profound insights into achieving mental harmony and psychological well-being. The philosophical systems of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Yoga provide practical and ethical frameworks for self-discipline, mindfulness, compassion, detachment, and self-realization. Concepts such as Karma Yoga, Ahimsa, meditation, mindfulness, non-attachment, and the pursuit of truth contribute significantly to the development of emotional resilience and inner equilibrium. This chapter explores the major Indian philosophical traditions and examines their role in promoting peace and stability at both personal and societal levels. The discussion further highlights the relevance of these traditions in modern education, mental health, and value-based living. The chapter concludes that Indian philosophical wisdom remains highly relevant for fostering holistic well-being and sustainable peace in the modern age.
