The socio-cultural relationship between India and China reflects centuries of shared heritage, religious exchanges, and artistic collaboration. Despite contemporary political tensions and border disputes, the two nations continue to engage in cross-border cultural diplomacy, heritage preservation, and academic exchange. This chapter explores the historical context of India-China socio-cultural interactions, highlighting key phases such as the Silk Road trade, the spread of Buddhism, and colonial disruptions. It examines the current landscape, emphasizing the role of economic cooperation, tourism, and cinematic collaborations in fostering mutual understanding. Case studies on the preservation of Buddhist heritage sites like Nalanda and Dunhuang, academic programs, and film co-productions illustrate the ongoing cultural dialogue between the two countries. The chapter concludes with policy recommendations aimed at strengthening socio-cultural sustainability through initiatives such as heritage protection agreements, digital platforms for cultural exchange, and youth engagement programs. By leveraging shared cultural roots, India and China can foster long term peace, cooperation, and regional stability. The findings underscore the importance of cultural diplomacy as a tool for mitigating political differences and reinforcing bilateral relations.
