In the digital era, cyberbullying has become a widespread and detrimental phenomenon that poses serious risks to people’s safety and well-being on social networking sites, especially for teenagers and young adults. This research paper investigates the multifaceted aspects of cyberbullying, focusing on its recognition, mitigation, and intervention strategies within the realm of social media. Drawing upon a comprehensive review of existing literature, this study identifies the various forms and manifestations of cyberbullying, including harassment, impersonation, exclusion, and defamation, among others. Furthermore, it explores the underlying factors contributing to the perpetuation of cyberbullying behaviors, emphasizing the role of anonymity, online disinhibition, and social norms in facilitating cyber aggression. Overall, this paper underscores the importance of a multidisciplinary approach involving collaboration among researchers, educators, policymakers, social media platforms, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive strategies to prevent cyberbullying.
