Dopamine, a type of monoamine neurotransmitter, acts as a chemical messenger produced in the brain. It facilitates communication by transmitting signals between brain cells and various organs throughout the body. Your adrenaline gland makes dopamine and directly secretes it into your bloodstream. Dopamine plays several functions in the human body such as movement, attention, behaviour, and cognition. In this paper, with the help of transactional analysis, we aim to investigate the relationship between the imbalance of dopamine which results in schizophrenia which is a type of psychosis that hampers the daily functioning of an individual to such an extent that the individual requires round-theclock assistance.
