Abstract
The Skill India program was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi on July 15, 2015. By 2022, the campaign hopes to provide 400 million (40 crore) Indians with various skill sets so they can find work. As part of this campaignThe government has implemented a number of initiatives, including the National Skill Development Mission, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Visayas Yojna (PMKVY), the National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015, and the Skill Loan Scheme. The program’s objective is to equip young people with skills that will help them find work and develop their entrepreneurial abilities. For all traditional occupations, such as carpenters, cobblers, welders, blacksmiths, masons, nurses, tailors, and weavers, among others, it included training, support, and mentoring. The paper is an attempt to find out the effectiveness of Skill India mission and how employability rate has changed in the several years. It lays emphasis especially on various changes that has taken place in India as of 2024 year.
