Abstract
It is extremely complex and requires specialist knowledge to investigate the education and rehabilitation of disadvantaged children in the ancient Indian knowledge system. It requires a deep understanding of ancient Indian culture, language, and thought processes. For this we have to study primary sources and secondary sources of literature. Primary Sources includes Vedas, Upanishads, Samhitas, Puranas, Arthashastra, Dharma-shastras, medical texts (Ayurveda, Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita), and other relevant ancient Indian literature whereas Secondary Sources includes Scholarly works on ancient Indian history, philosophy, religion, medicine, education, and disability studies.
