A comprehensive assessment of the existing literatures on the challenges and solutions related to cyber security in smart cities

Abstract

A smart city improves metropolitan municipal administrations by utilizing the most recent information and communication technologies (ICT) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance urban city administrations, save costs, manage assets, and foster community among its residents. Numerous benefits are associated with smart cities, including enhanced energy productivity and management, healthcare facilities, effective transportation systems, appropriate waste and water management, and personal protection. In this article, we go over the various risks that smart cities face and demonstrate how their unique features create cybersecurity issues. Lastly, we go over a few of the more significant cybersecurity fixes that have been suggested for smart cities. Our study aims to identify digital cyberattacks that target smart city communities in the literature, in addition to outlining the key concepts of digital security and protection problems associated to smart city sites. In summary, this study aims to investigate and evaluate many facets of cybersecurity concerns in smart cities, information security vulnerabilities associated with smart city, and offer an all-encompassing research framework to support academics and business experts in this field.
